I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
